Naohiro Mouri

Mr. Mouri has over 25 years of experience in internal audit. Before his current role, he was Senior Managing Director of Asia Pacific Internal Audit at AIG. Prior to joining AIG in 2015, he served as Statutory Executive Officer, Senior Vice President, and Chief Auditor for MetLife Japan. He has also held chief auditor positions at JP Morgan for Asia Pacific, Shinsei Bank, Morgan Stanley Japan, and Deutsche Bank Japan. His auditing career began at Arthur Andersen in Atlanta and Tokyo.


Mr. Mouri is a strong advocate for internal audit professionals and serves as Senior Vice Chairman of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Global Board of Directors, having been an active member since 1995. He has been a director for IIA Japan since 2003 and held senior positions including International Secretary and Vice Chairman – Professional Services. He was the first president of the Asian Confederation of Institutes of Internal Auditors from 2001 to 2006.


Mr. Mouri co-authored a book on internal auditing for financial institutions in Japanese and Mandarin and has lectured at industry and academic forums, including Meiji University and Senshu University. He is a CPA and Certified Internal Auditor with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Georgia State University.
