Julian Ha is a global managing partner at Heidrick & Struggles, based in Washington, D.C. He oversees the firm's Legal, Risk, Compliance & Government Affairs Practice and is a member of the CEO & Board of Directors practices. Julian has placed CEOs and senior executives in legal, public policy, government relations, and public affairs roles for numerous Fortune 500 clients. He also co-led the Heidrick & Struggles Professionals of Color Employee Resource Group.
Before joining Heidrick & Struggles, Julian practiced corporate law in New York, Singapore, and London, advising multinational corporations on IPOs, venture capital investments, and cross-border M&A transactions. He has also been a venture capitalist in London, headed European business development for Capital IQ, and was a director in the corporate finance group of ESCL.
Julian holds a B.A. from Cornell University, master's degrees from Harvard University and The London School of Economics, a J.D. from NYU School of Law, and an EMBA from Quantic School of Business & Technology. He has extensive boardroom governance experience, having served on the boards of China Recycling Energy Corporation and a privately held manufacturing business. Julian currently serves on the boards of the Public Affairs Council and AESC, and advises Fiscal Note, Applecart, and K Street Capital. He is a member of the Economic Club of Washington, D.C.
