President, Tempco Glass Fabrication
Johnson Chen is responsible for all strategic planning, sales, production, and shipping operations. Tempco provides tempering, cutting, and polishing for large and small sized glass sheets and insulated glass unit fabrication for the design and construction industry.
Tempco Glass Fabrication, launched less than 10 years ago in 2013, has grown very rapidly under Chen’s direction. He expanded product lines, doubled the company’s production space to 45,000 sq. ft., and added capacity with new equipment. Tempco’s annual revenues have increased steadily, having grown 75% since 2016, and are now approaching $10 million.
Chen has substantial experience in the glass and metal industry through the family businesses of window manufacturing He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration at Carnegie Mellon University and started his professional career at Johnson and Johnson as a project manager. Chen continued his education by earning a law degree at St. John’s University.
Chen is enthusiastic about incorporating technology into business
An advocate of educational initiatives in Queens, Chen serves on the Queensborough Community College Fund Board and Continued Education/Workforce Development Board. He also actively participates in the philanthropy of The Chen Family/Crystal Foundation in support of cultural and educational programs throughout New York.
