In 2000, AABDC began a tradition that would symbolize New York City’s appreciation of the Lunar New Year and respect for the Asian community, the lighting of Empire State Building in red and yellow, the auspicious color for the new year.

About

Lunar New Year Celebration

Since 2000, AABDC has held the annual Lunar New Year Gala at the historic Federal
Hall National Memorial on Wall Street, the executive suite at Macy’s Headquarters and at the Magic Room at the LVMH Tower in midtown.

With over 250+ RSVPs to this event each year the LNY Gala is an ideal setting for attendees to unwind, celebrate, and collectively welcome the good fortune and luck that the New Year brings.

In 2025, we will be celebrating the Year of the Snake. In Chinese culture, the Snake embodies wisdom, intuition, and transformation, representing elegance, mystery, and resourcefulness.
